Naksh is his mother's beloved son, and she adorably calls him "Duggu". The elders of the family lovingly call him "Lalla", a nickname for the lord Krishna. His maternal family members called him as "Chikku". Naksh is also close to Naira, his younger sister, especially when they move to Cape Town.

After Naira returns and they reconcile, Naitik is abducted by their step-uncle Naman, but the women rescue him. Later, Naksh also loses his mother Akshara, and falls into depression.
After his sister's marriage to Karan Goenka, he marries Kartik's sister Keerti. However, their marriage is an arranged alliance, and they learn to love each other, much like his parents, Akshara and Naitik.
